"Yahtzee"
UKC GRCH Legend's Roll of the Dice NA NAJ TDI CL1 was born April 11, 2005.
He came to our home here in West Michigan on July 1st as a small cuddly little pup.
Yahtzee was my first Papillon, I learned what to do and what not to do with him.
Unfortunately, I started him in the conformation ring when he was very young.
After a while, it was no longer fun for him and he grew to hate it.
We did manage to obtain both his UKC Champion and his UKC Grand
Champion titles, before I decided to pull him from the conformation show ring to
move on to other activities.
UKC Champion Class wins:
9-23-06 wins Champion class over 8 others
10-14-06 wins Champion class over 5 others
12-09-06 wins Champion class over 3 others with Chelsea Pike his breeder's
daughter handling!
12-10-06 wins Champion class again with Chelsea handling
12-16-06 wins Champion class for 5th win and new title! Thank you
Judges Sandra Sauceda, Beth Snedeger, Daryleen Rascati, and Rose O'Hara for
seeing the great potential in Yahtzee.
New Title - UKC Grand Champion

Yahtzee has a fantastic personality! He is one active little
dog. When he was about a year and a half old, we began taking agility
classes together. Agility is the performance event that Yahtzee loves!

Our goal of entering an agility trial by the end of 2007 was met!
On December 31, 2007, Yahtzee and I entered our first trial in Dexter, MI.
We left home at 4:30 am so we would arrive in time for Yahtzee to be "measured".
This event was a CPE (Canine Performance Events) trial - one of several agility
venues. I entered Yahtzee in 2 classes - jumpers and full house. In
the Jumpers class, Yahtzee ran a clean run and in half the allotted time - 26.61
seconds! What a speed demon! He "Q'd" (qualified) and was the first
place finisher in his jump height. (The second run was not as successful
due to handler error - oops!) It was certainly a fun experience and our
next trial is coming up soon.
March 21 & 23: CPE Trial in Dexter Michigan.
Yahtzee and I ran a total of 6 runs and qualified in 5 of them. With these
runs Yahtzee earned his first agility title! In fact he picked up 3 titles
this weekend!
Standard in 39.35 seconds 0 faults
Colors in 18.56 seconds 0 faults
Full House in 35.07 seconds 0 faults - completed CL1-F title!
Standard in 46.78 seconds 5 faults - completed CL1-R title!
Wildcard in 27.95 seconds 0 faults - completed CL1-H title!
Yahtzee and I competed again in May and ran perfect runs on both
days of the trial we entered. These runs helped us work together as a team
and things started clicking for us on the courses.
On July 4, 2008, Yahtzee qualified in the last required game,
Jackpot, to complete his CL1-S title! Level 1 was now complete and we
moved on to Level 2.
AKC Agility accomplishments:
May 3, 2008 - Yahtzee Q's in his first Novice Std run!
June 28, 2008 - Yahtzee Q's in his 2nd Novice Std run!

August 22, 2008 - Yahtzee qualified in his first AKC Novice
Jumpers with Weaves run at Grand Blanc, Michigan.
September 12, 2008 - Yahtzee has his first "Double Q" - qualifying
in both his Novice Standard and his Novice JWW runs.
This completes the requirements for Yahtzee's AKC NA agility title!
September 13, 2008 - Yahtzee qualifies in his Novice JWW run -
completing his AKC NAJ title!
We have also worked with my good friend, Meghan Rosenstengel, on
basic tracking skills. Yahtzee enjoyed tracking, but with so
many activities to choose from and just so much time available, I've decided to wait a
while before pursuing more tracking training.
We completed the requirements for Therapy Dogs, Int'l and Yahtzee
now has his certification. We are enjoying our nursing home visits.
Yahtzee is both AKC registered and UKC registered.
